Something Navy CEO denies rumors surrounding Arielle Charnas’ husband

Something Navy CEO Matthew Scanlan categorically denied rumors that founder Arielle Charnas’ husband, Brandon Charnas, has been embezzling funds from the clothing company.

“This is categorically false,” Scanlan told WWD in a statement Wednesday. “Brandon Charnas does not have access to company bank accounts. He is not an employee of the company, and he has no access points.”

Rumors swirled on Reddit and all over social media Tuesday evening that Brandon, co-founder of Current Real Estate, had embezzled from Something Navy and the couple were divorcing.

Arielle’s rep shot down the divorce rumors in a statement exclusive to Page Six, saying, “This is patently false. They are happily married and in love.”

The couple married in 2014 and share three daughters: Ruby Lou, Esme Rae and Navy Bea.

Adding fuel to the rumor mill was the fact that Arielle limited comments on her Instagram posts and hadn’t shared images of Brandon in months

Arielle, 35, also posted a series of selfies Tuesday evening showing herself dressed to impress – but without her wedding band on her hand.

However, perhaps in response to the endless rumors, Brandon commented on Arielle’s carousel shared Wednesday morning with the emojis, “📷 👌.”

Brandon, meanwhile, had made his Instagram account private.

Arielle’s rep also denied the existence of a newsletter circulating, which claims to be written by the influencer.

“This letter is fake. All of these rumors are fake. Arielle and Brandon are happily married, there was absolutely no embezzlement. This is all part of a disgusting, coordinated smear campaign attempting to damage Arielle and Brandon’s reputations and lives,” a spokesperson told Page Six Wednesday.

Arielle found herself in hot water during the pandemic when she procured a once-impossible COVID test and then appeared to flout the isolation rules after testing positive. She then issued a tearful apology.

“My family and I are truly sorry to those we have offended for not appearing to [take] this crisis gravely seriously” and crying on Instagram, “We’re not bad people.”
