Chrissy Teigen's Pregnancy Loss Announcement Met With an Outpouring of Support

Stars like Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber, and Gabrielle Union expressed their condolences to the grieving couple.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced the loss of their son on social media on Wednesday night, after Teigen was hospitalized due to bleeding during her pregnancy. Celebrities and fans alike rushed to express their support for the couple, flooding the model's social media account with love and condolences.

“We’re always here for you and love you guys so much,” Kim Kardashian wrote in the comments of Teigen's Instagram post. Gabrielle Union added, “We love you guys so much and we will be here for whatever yall need. Always.” Paris Hilton said “My heart breaks for you and John. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family so much love. Love you beautiful,” with a string of red heart emojis. “I'm so so sorry,” Hailey Bieber commented, “Thinking of you and John, praying for you guys and sending you so much love during this time.”

Teigen shared a handful of heartbreaking black-and-white images of herself and Legend in the hospital on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, announcing that her son, whom the couple had named Jack, had died shortly after being born. In addition to the celebrity support, Teigen's decision to share her story was also well-received on social media.

"Thank you for sharing this so honestly and so publicly," one Twitter user replied. "For too long families--especially women--went through this kind of thing in secret, making more and more people feel alone and sometimes ashamed. you are so appreciated." Another wrote, "So many families suffer this kind of grief in silence. My heart breaks for these two, and I’m also in awe of their strength and their insistence on telling these tragic but all to common stories."

“Thank you to everyone who has been sending us positive energy, thoughts and prayers," Teigen wrote in her post. "We feel all of your love and truly appreciate you.”

“We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience,” she concluded. “But everyday can’t be full of sunshine.  On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
