As the COVID-19 crisis rages on in India, the lack of medical resources like oxygen cylinders and hospital beds has led to many influential figures using their unique platforms to amplify verified resources. Bollywood stars like Sonu Sood and Bhumi Pednekar have been doing their bit, and now, Hollywood celebrities and international musicians too have taken to their social media accounts to raise awareness about the situation, bumping up urgent requests and urging fans to donate to charities and organisations to help India's fight against the virus. From Katy Perry to Camila Cabello and Priyanka Chopra, here are all the global stars contributing to COVID-19 relief in India right now.

The pop artist, who last visited India in 2019 and played cover star for Vogue India's January 2020 issue, took to social media this weekend to raise awareness about the resources that are urgently required by the hospitals in the country. The star also requested fans to donate to the The British Asian Trust, an organisation currently focusing its efforts on gathering oxygen concentrators for hospitals.

Winner of the Global Youth Influencer award during Vogue Women of the Year 2020, Camila Cabello joined many others recently to talk about India's battle against COVID-19. The musician posted on Instagram in which she shared information about the country's dire need of medicines and resources, urging watchers to donate to GiveIndia, which is trying to raise a million dollars, with each donation being matched by sponsor Indiaspora. In her video, Cabello also spoke about her love for the country and its culture. 

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas

Priyanka Chopra, who is currently in London, has set up a fundraiser with GiveIndia, the largest organisation on ground in India providing COVID-19 relief. “India, my home, is suffering the world’s worst COVID crisis, and we all need to help,” the actor recently said. “People are dying in record numbers. There is illness everywhere, and it’s only continuing to spread and kill at great speed and scale.” The actor also took to Instagram with husband Nick Jonas to ask her many fans to come forward and donate.

Actor-producer Mindy Kailing has also came forward to support the crisis. Reposting influencer Deepica Mutyala's post, the star also shared a list of organisations well-wishers can contribute to. The list included Hemkunt Foundation, Khalsa Aid, GiveIndia and Feeding From Far, all of which are working day and night to arrange resources for those in need.

Giving Jay Shetty a shoutout, Canadian singer Shawn Mendes used his Instagram platform to inform his 59.6 million fans about how they can help the life coach raise money for India via GiveIndia and Indiaspora. “This means every dollar is doubled so we can try our best to make a difference!” Mendes explained.

"Now that I have your attention, direct your gaze to the donate button," actor, YouTuber and talk show host Lilly Singh wrote under her latest Instagram post. Singh has also actively been sharing information about India's fight with COVID-19. Her post came with a heartfelt caption: “When you see things like this, it becomes so frustrating to witness people in privileged places protesting over masks and safety protocol. My god, we are so lost and we must keep working. Please donate.”

Orlando Bloom

Another celebrity who is currently using his social media presence to encourage fans from across the globe to help India is Orlando Bloom. The star tagged UNICEF in his latest post, saying “It's at times like this that we realise we need to be global citizens and help one another.”
