Brooklyn pizzeria offering 'comforting words' as delivery menu item

Just $1 for a delivery person to tell you, "EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE OK."

One pizzeria in Brooklyn is taking comfort food to an entirely new level.

For just one buck, a Vinnie's delivery person will offer comforting words (you know, in these uncertain times) to go along with whatever else you order.

The pizzeria, with locations in the Williamsburg and Greenpoint neighborhoods of Brooklyn, posted images of the new menu item on social media on Tuesday.

The item is under a new "positive reinforcement" section of the menu.

The description reads: "For $1, our delivery driver will look you straight in the eyes and tell you 'EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE OK AND YOU'RE DOING THE BEST YOU CAN.'

I just so happen to live in Greenpoint and I can confirm that the Bedford Ave. location of Vinnie's — the location available to deliver to my apartment — had "comforting words" as a delivery option on Grubhub. And indeed, for just one dollar, I could make some poor delivery person comfort me.

While certainly a funny idea, it's hard to imagine ordering "comforting words" to be anything but awkward as hell. Imagine being the delivery person who must — for just $1 — being made to climb a whole mess of stairs to tell some "YOU'RE DOING THE BEST YOU CAN." For one dollar!

I appreciate the sentiment, Vinnie's, but at least ramp up the price. And if you, too, live near Vinnie's and order the "comforting words," you better tip. You better tip BIG.
