Donald Trump Anoints His Newest ‘Nasty’ Woman: Meghan Markle

It’s been three whole years since Donald Trump first took the phrase “nasty woman” out for a spin to insult his presidential competitor, Hillary Clinton, in the midst of a debate, and it’s now being revived for another special gal who got the hell out of America: Meghan Markle, the DGAF Duchess of Sussex. In a new interview conducted before his upcoming trip to the United Kingdom, Trump was reminded of a pre-royal chat Markle did on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore in 2016, when she called the future president a “vocal misogynist” and “divisive.” And how about that — Trump didn’t love those comments. “I didn’t know that she was nasty,” he said, per CNN, before adding a compliment about Markle’s royal status and her new son. “I hope she is okay. I am sure she will go excellently. She will be very good. I hope she does.”

CNN also noted that owing to Markle’s ongoing maternity leave, she won’t be interacting with Trump during his visit, although Prince Charles, Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate Middleton have all been summoned to meet and have tea with the president. Shouldn’t be an awkward time at all.

Update, June 2: Despite his interview with Britain’s The Sun being recorded in clear audio, Trump is denying he ever called Markle such a word. “Made up by the Fake News Media, and they got caught cold!” he tweeted. “Will @CNN, @nytimes, and others apologize? Doubt it!”
