Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have announced their final engagements as senior members of the royal family, while also revealing they will officially step back beginning March 31.

The pair are expected to take part in several more official engagements in the U.K. before stepping back, according to the British news agency Press Association. Harry will attend an Invictus Games event with Jon Bon Jovi on Feb. 28. On March 8, Meghan will mark International Women's Day.

The two will also appear at the Endeavour Fund Awards and the Mountbatten Music Festival, while Harry will attend the opening of Silverstone Experience, according to reports.

Their final announced engagement as senior royals is scheduled for March 9, when they will join the royal family for the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey.

According to the Press Association, a spokesperson said Harry and Meghan will "regularly" return to the United Kingdom the rest of the year. Harry reportedly is expected to attend the London Marathon in April, and the pair will both attend the Invictus Games, which Harry founded, in May.

Even before these plans were solidified, the couple were open about their desire to split their time between North America and the United Kingdom.

All changes regarding the couple will take effect beginning March 31. From April 1 onward, they will no longer have an office at Buckingham Palace and will instead be represented by their charity's foundation team.

A 12-month transition period will follow, during which Harry's honorary military positions will not be used. However, he will retain the ranks of major, lieutenant commander and squadron leader.

It had been previously announced that the couple will no longer take public funds or use their HRH titles. According to the Press Association, Harry and Meghan will continue to be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Earl and Countess of Dumbarton, and the Baron and Baroness Kilkeel. A spokesperson for the couple stressed that Harry remains sixth in line for the throne.

The palace is currently reviewing whether Harry and Meghan can use the word "royal" for purposes such as branding. Discussions are ongoing and any changes will be announced when Harry and Meghan launch their new nonprofit organization, according to the Press Association. More details about the nonprofit will be released later in the year.

The couple's future has been a topic of discussion since they announced in January they intended to "step back" as senior members of the royal family. They've made few public appearances since then.

Last Tuesday, the pair visited Stanford University, and on Valentine's Day they were photographed together as they exited a commercial flight at Canada's Victoria International Airport.
