Dozens of units at a Kissimmee condominium complex were deemed unsafe Wednesday after an inspection found the walkways leading to the units were at risk of collapsing, according to an Osceola County spokesperson.

On Wednesday morning, county officials declared buildings housing 72 units at Images Condominiums unsafe after an engineering firm discovered several walkways leading to the units are “in danger of collapse” and posed a safety concern during an inspection, Osceola County spokesperson Chris Brumbaugh said.

Residents were advised to enter the buildings containing the units at their own risk, he said.

The complex, located off of West Osceola Parkway and U.S. 192 in Kissimmee, was built in 1990, property records show.

The engineering report was conducted on behalf of the condominiums’ management company, Brumbaugh said, and the condo association and management company are responsible for repairing the structural issues found by the inspection. County property records list the condominiums’ owners as Images Condo Association, Inc.

Osceola County staff and partners were at the condominiums offering residents assistance with temporary housing Wednesday, and staff will also be at the complex offering assistance Thursday, Brumbaugh said.

He advised residents with questions or those in need of assistance to call Osceola County Human Services at 407-742-8400 or the Red Cross at 407-894-4141 or 1-800-733-2767.
