John Dingell wasn't just the longest-serving congressman in American history. He was also among the funniest people on Twitter.

The Michigan native and political titan died Thursday. He was 92.

Though he made quite a name for himself in U.S. politics, he spent the latter part of his life sharing his musings on Twitter to critical acclaim. In 2014, the Wall Street Journal called him a social media star and The Atlantic considered his account the best in Congress.

In honor of Dingell, we looked back at some of his best and most popular tweets from the past several years. Though he spent much of the past couple iof years railing on the  Trump administration, he also tweeted a ton on Detroit and Michigan sports, life in his later years and more.
