Military wife reunited with Army sergeant husband at Trump’s State of the Union address

A military spouse was reunited with her Army sergeant husband during President Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

As he addressed Congress, Trump surprised Amy Williams by bringing out her husband, Sgt. First Class Townsend Williams, who had been deployed in Afghanistan.

“Tonight we have a very special surprise. I am thrilled to inform you that your husband is back from deployment,” Trump told Williams, who attended the speech with the couple’s two children, Elliana, 6, and Rowan, 3.

Prior to the emotional moment, Trump had praised the North Carolina mother who “works full time, and volunteers countless hours helping other military families.”

“Amy’s kids have not seen their father’s face in many months,” Trump said. “Amy, your family’s sacrifice makes it possible for all of our families to live in safety and peace — and we want to thank you.”

After expressing his gratitude, Trump said: “But Amy, there is one more thing.”

The mom of two put her hand over her mouth as she looked back to see her husband walking toward her to roaring applause.

She appeared to be holding back tears as the entire family embraced.
