In an email shared with the Harvard University community on Tuesday, school president Larry Bacow announced that both he and his wife had tested positive for the coronavirus. Earlier that week, classes had resumed online. All students had to move out of their campus accommodations by March 15.

Cornell University is shifting to online courses beginning April 6, and instructing all students to move off-campus by March 29.

Yale University is shifting to remote classes after their spring break. It's also asking students to stay home after the break.

New York University (NYU) is holding classes remotely until at least March 27 and has instructed students that they must be moved out of campus housing by March 22.

Fordham University canceled classes on March 9 after a student with found with symptoms and was being tested, and a few faculty members and students had been exposed to the virus. Classes resumed on March 11 online.

Columbia University in New York City moved classes online on March 11 through the remainder of the semester. On Sunday, March 16, it was announced that a member of the Columbia community had tested positive for the coronavirus. The university declined to say whether the infected person was located at the New York campus or an affiliate campus. The university encouraged students to evacuate their dorms by the 17th.

NY Governor Cuomo announced that all CUNY and SUNY classes will be moved online for the remainder of the spring semester.

Syracuse University shifted to online courses from March 13 until at least March 30. It's also encouraging students to leave campus and stay home after spring break.

Notre Dame canceled all classes from March 16-20 and is switching over to online classes in lieu of in-person instruction beginning on March 23 through at least April 13.

Rutgers University is canceling courses from March 12 to the end of their spring break on March 22. Courses will resume virtually on March 23.

Ohio State University (OSU) is holding classes remotely beginning March 23, and are asking students to move off-campus by March 22.

St. John's University is holding classes virtually until March 27 and it asked all students to move out of their campus accommodations.

Princeton University will also hold classes virtually starting March 23, after its spring break.

The University of Washington announced it will hold classes remotely for the rest of the semester after a faculty member tested positive for the virus. As of Monday, 42 people have died in Washington state from the coronavirus.

Rice University canceled in-person classes for the rest of the semester after a staff member tested positive for the virus. It also banned meetings of more than 100 people until May.

Arizona State University said that that they are moving all classes online from March 16 to March 27, but will be keeping campus housing and dining halls open.

The University of Southern California (USC) is shifting to online classes after their spring break, which was last week, until April 14. It also canceled or postponed all university-sponsored events for the rest of the semester.
