Trump declares ‘NO COLLUSION — RIGGED WITCH HUNT!’ in 1 am tweet
President Trump returned to two of his most common refrains in a 1 a.m. tweet Thursday, declaring “NO COLLUSION” and “RIGGED WITCH HUNT” in reference to special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.
The tweet followed the guilty plea by Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen and a guilty verdict against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
“NO COLLUSION — RIGGED WITCH HUNT,” the president tweeted at 1:10 a.m.
NO COLLUSION – RIGGED WITCH HUNT!

{mosads}The White House on Wednesday distanced Trump from both legal developments, as press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders repeatedly at her briefing maintained that the president had done nothing wrong.
Trump has often dismissed Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign by calling the probe a “rigged witch hunt” and saying there’s was “no collusion.”
Cohen plead guilty on Wednesday to campaign finance violations, saying he made payments to silence two women who said they had affairs with Trump and that he did so to influence the 2016 presidential election.
Trump has defended himself against Cohen’s guilty plea and Manafort’s conviction, attacking Cohen as a liar and saying he feels “very badly” for Manafort. He also argued on Twitter that the charges Cohen pleaded guilty to are “not a crime.”
