She's officially known in the UK as Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

Phew.

Not only that, but her full name is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary and she holds several other noble titles, depending on where you are in the world.

It's fair to say, the Royal family LOVE their names and fancy honours.

They're also not immune to funny, sweet and sometimes really odd nicknames either.

Apparently Prince William went by a different name at university to keep a low profile - STEVE.

Her Maj also has a few pet names.

The Duke of Edinburgh endearingly refers to her as 'sausage' or 'cabbage'. Lovely.

As a child, she would refer to herself as "Tillabet", Popsugar reports, and once she got older, her friends and family began calling her "Lilibet."

Prince George has a nickname for her too (

Little Prince George reportedly refers to her as "gan-gan" -but perhaps her best nickname has to be courtesy of his dad.

Apparently, the Queen used to be called "Gary" by Prince William.

Admittedly, it's not what you'd expect, but there is a good reason for it. As a youngster, he couldn't pronounce "Granny" properly.

Columnist Richard Kay revealed how the young prince began bawling "Gary, Gary" after falling over in Buckingham Palace once as a child.

Asked who Gary was as she picked up her grandson, the Queen replied: "I'm Gary. He hasn't learned to say granny yet."

We wonder if she still responds to it?
