Sold on Amazon as the “Rubber Chicken Purse,” the accessory has received over 1,062 recommendations — mostly five stars — and while it’s not new, is making a comeback in fashion circles. The product description notes “Heads will turn as you carry this Henbag. It is sure to bring a smile to yourself and others each time you carry it. Fun gift!”
The purse is so beloved, an owner created an Instagram for the bag called A Fowl Purse which describes itself as documenting “the many adventures of Chicken, a rubber chicken purse living the dream in Northern California.”
Meanwhile, the hashtag #chickenpurse has racked up over 3,000 posts on the social media site, with one user, @hello_cathyduarte, noting: “Years ago I was cutting this lady’s hair and she had this rubber chicken purse l fell in love with it and finally got one it in May so now I’m switching out my bags and using this one for National handbag day”.
Another fan is so obsessed they got a tattoo of the chicken purse.
