Every bit of news surrounding the Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls has sent fans into a frenzy. And now Netflix has finally revealed the first bit of new footage, as well as the release date: Nov. 25 (which is also Black Friday). The teaser for the revival, which will consist for four 90-minute episodes, begins and ends with familiar music, and shows Stars Hollow covered in snow. Luke’s diner is still there, as is Doose’s Market and the Dragonfly Inn. But the centerpiece is just a scene of Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) sitting at the kitchen table bantering about whether Amy Schumer would like Lorelai. (Schumer has already responded on Twitter. See below.) Some things have changed—Rory uses an iPhone to look up information about the corpse flower—but mostly this assures fans that they can settle in for the same rat-a-tat dialogue that creator Amy Sherman-Palladino brought to the first six seasons of the show. The Thanksgiving hangover now has something that will make it all better.
