Garbiñe Muguruza dominated against Venus Williams in the 2017 Wimbledon women's final, beating Wiliams 7-5, 6-0.

The first set was evenly matched, but Muguruza had the momentum shift her way in the second set. Williams, 14 years older than Muguruza, started off strong with her power, but faded fast and dug herself a hole she couldn't get out of.

Muguruza is the first Spanish woman to win the Wimbledon title since her coach, Conhita Martinez in 1994. Her title at the All England Club is Muruguza's second-career Grand Slam title. She is the only player to defeat both Venus and Serena Williams to win Slam titles. Muguruza beat Serena to win the French Open in 2016.

For Williams, this is her second runner-up finish of the year. She lost to Serena in the Australian Open final.

Muguruza is the No. 14 seed and the 2015 Wimbledon runner-up. She is the fifth woman in the past 10 years to win a Grand Slam semifinal or final when losing two or less games.
