Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Lena Dunham are taking the Dem Convention stage
The stars are coming out for Hillary Clinton next week.
Katy Perry, Demi Lovato and Lena Dunham are just a few of the celebrities heading to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention. They shared the news on Twitter.
Though the tweets imply that those women will be speaking at the convention, a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Convention Committee, Morgan Finkelstein, could only confirm that the celebrities "will be participating" in the event.
Other famous faces going to speak on behalf of the presumptive Democratic nominee: Chloe Grace Moretz, Tony Goldwyn, Debra Messing, America Ferrera, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jason Collins, Eva Longoria and Star Jones.
Many of the celebrity attendees are telling fans to text the number "47246" with a code like "KATY PERRY," "MESSING" and "KAP" (for Abdul-Jabbar) in order to receive alerts for when specific entertainer "speaks at the DNC," reads the automated text response.

The text response for typing "DEMI," however, invokes a different reply message, about alerting "when Demi takes the stage," as opposed to when she speaks. Finkelstein would not confirm whether Lovato is singing at the convention, but did say there will be a house band.
