Zendaya, Kumail Nanjiani, and more react to Jordan Peele's historic Oscars win

Jordan Peele’s peers are celebrating his historic win.

The Get Out writer-director took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards Sunday evening, making him the first black writer to ever to win this award. His horror film was one of the most buzzed-about films of the year, and everyone from Zendaya to Chrissy Teigen and Arrow‘s Stephen Amell is excited about Peele’s landmark achievement.

“My first jump of the night!!! So happy for Get Out!!!” Teigen tweeted.

“Jordan Peele created a new genre. He deserves this,” said Amell.

The Big Sick’s Kumail Nanjiani, who was also nominated in this category, had a great reaction to his loss. “The Big Sick came in second!” tweeted Nanjiani, who co-wrote The Big Sick with Emily V. Gordon.
