Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have taken the next engagement step. They announced the news at the end of November and took photos in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden soon after. But now, just like hundreds of officially engaged couples across the world, they have released their perfectly lit, professionally edited engagement photos, which were taken earlier this week with fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski, the palace shared in a tweet Thursday.

The first photo the palace tweeted (above) shows the couple cuddled on the steps of Frogmore House, Markle’s left—ring—hand draped over Harry’s knee. In the second tweeted photo, which is in black and white, we see a smiling Harry with his bride, and the ring—Harry’s pick from Botswana—gets a spotlight then, too.

Lubomirski added a third photo to his personal Instagram page; the image, also in black and white, shows Markle’s full outfit, complete with a long ruffled black skirt.

“A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms. Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits,” Lubomirski said in his caption. “Not only was it an incredible honor, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took.”

This has been yet another busy royal week in Markle’s life; yesterday she joined Prince Harry and her soon-to-be in-laws, Kate Middleton and Prince William, who had Charlotte and George in tow, at the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch. Next week she spends Christmas with the family for a more intimate gathering in Sandringham.
