Moms across the internet are in an uproar.

Kate Hudson announced in August that she’d be appearing on the cover of Cosmopolitan’s October issue, but it’s what she said inside the magazine that’s rocked playgroups around the globe.

As part of her feature, the actress filled out a survey which included a question about the laziest thing she’s ever done. Hudson’s response was, “Have a C-section!”

After the magazine hit shelves, outraged mothers — many of whom had delivered children via Caesarean Section — flocked to the comment section of Hudson’s Instagram to give the actress a piece of their minds.

Many noted that Hudson’s comment was “insensitive,” reminding the actress that a large portion of mothers who give birth via C-section don’t choose that route. Others called for her to be more aware when speaking in such a public format.

“As women most of us don’t choose a c section (SIC) I know I didn’t, and I have had both and believe me having a c section was one of the hardest things I have ever done I ended up almost dying I was very very ill and it took a long time to recover, some of us are a little to (SIC) sensitive…,” an angry mother complained.

“How insensitive. Shaming a way that so many women don’t chose to have their babies but have to! I labored for over 24 hours before it was no longer safe for me and my baby. I think that’s the furthest thing from lazy!” a second commenter said.

While a majority of the feedback Hudson received was negative, she had many fans rushing to her defense.

“I had three c sections in the last 4 years, and I found the comment hilarious,” one Hudson supporter wrote. “Sounds exactly like something I would have said as a joke. It’s the society we live in today, everyone is so hyper sensitive, always finding something wine (SIC) & compline (SIC) about.”

Another simply asked that haters “lighten up.”

“I had three C-sections & I have to say I can’t imagine how hard it is to labor for hours & push out a human being…now that’s work!! I’m not saying a C-section is easy but it’s not the same labor intensive process,” a backer of the actress commented. “The recovery is daunting & takes a while. But I’m sure it was not to discount anyone that’s had to have a C-section & what they went through.”

“You need to be more cognizant of how you speak about childbearing. May be a funny inside joke to you but considering how intelligent you are I figured you’d have more class.”

Hudson has two children Ryder, 13, and Bingham, 6. She gave birth to her eldest son via C-section.
