CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The New York Times reports this week on the rocky relationship Republican presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan share.

Ryan said he wouldn't support Trump as the party nominee -- yet. Trump fired back, and hinted that he may lash out against Ryan. Trump "refused to rule out blocking" Ryan from serving as the Republican National Convention chairman, The Times reports.

"Trump's warning was his latest affront to Republicans who have urged him to adopt a more cooperative and unifying tone. And it amounted to an extraordinary escalation in tensions between the party's presumptive nominee and its highest-ranking officeholder," The Times writes.
